PAGE 97 Panel 1: Close up on Charlie's phone. It shows a text message from Vanita, saying, "Hey! It's Vanita. Know any DYU students?" Panel 2: Charlie stares at her phone in disbelief. Panel 3: Same shot as panel 2. Off-panel, her brother Jared asks, "Who is it?" Charlie answers, "Vanita. With a weird question." Panel 4: Wide panel. Close up on Vanita's phone as we see Charlie's text saying "I'm a DYU student. What's up?" Vanita shouts from off-panel, "WOAH! We lucked out!" Panel 5: Medium shot under the blanket fort. Their dinner plates sit on the couch cushion by their heads, with leftover chicken bones and forks. King, looking thoughtful, recollects as they say, "I recall a drawing on the floor. A seven-pointed star...and seven black candles. One at each point of the star." Panel 2: Wide panel, close up on King looking puzzled. "I don't recall the exact incantation," they say. "...But I remember it had been copied from another book..." Panel 3: Vanita asks, "Do you remember the book?" King raises a finger, face lighting up with recognition. "Not exactly," they say. "I think it was something-or other Incantorum. But I remember the author!"

We hear from inside the apartment, "You mentioned a spell before dinner. One that can send people to the Pit... Panel 3: Wide panel. Closer in on the sliding glass door opening into Vanita's apartment. There's enough of a crack in the curtain for the speech bubble to come through. Vanita asks, "...Do you remember any of it?" Panel 4: Inside the apartment. We see the blanket fort. Under the covering, King says, "Hmm..."

Charlie, holding her phone, leans in towards Clow. Clow says, "We're listening." Claudia (from the phone) says, "Alright." Panel 2: Medium close-up on Charlie and Clow. Claudia (on the phone) says, "A young lady came into my shop today to sell tea on consignment. Her name's Vanita - " Charlie's face lights up in recognition and she says, "Wait..." Panel 3: Wide panel. Charlie sits on the right of the panel. Her speech balloons frame an illustration of Vanita on the left. Clow, sitting close to Charlie, listens intently. Charlie asks, "Does she have black hair? Pale skin? With her hair real tight into a poof in the back?" Panel 4: Claudia sits on the stool. Don, standing by her, looks startled. Claudia says, "Y-yes! As tends to be the case with the best paranormal comics of this type, the main draw is that it's all about the relationships-- relationships that aren't exactly steamy, they're more caring...."
